New Delhi, IRNA Addressing the worshippers gathered to offer special Eid prayers at Delhi’s historical Fatehpuri Mosque, Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed regretted that the UN is not performing its duty in establishing peace, particularly in the middle East.
“Israel with the support of the US is committing henious crimes against the Palestinians, including women and children, and the world body is watching like a mute spectator,” noted religious scholar.
He emphasized that the hegemonic policies adopted by the US and Zionist Regime are the root cause of all the miseries faced by the people, not only in the region but also around the globe.
“The UN, instead of being a mute spectator, should play its role and fulfill its commitments by favouring Palestinians, who are fighting for their homeland, in granting them their fundamental rights,” Mukarram suggested.
He also urged the UN to impose sanctions on Israel in response to its inhuman behaviour.
